This is a stunning freehand plateau pipe with stunning cross grain sweeping diagonally across the sides of the bowl. You don't need a pipe rest for this piece as the pipe balances beautifully on the plateau underneath. The plateau is stained in a dark burgundy finish. The combination between the plateau and staining give the "shark bite" effect as Peder Jeppesen affectionately calls it.
