Folks, we have just received a rare pair of *NEW* W.O. Larsen pipes that we literally uncovered when we visited one of our Danish pipe distributors. We did not hesitate to grab these collector's items. New, not previously owned Larsen pipes are extremely hard to come by since W.O. Larsen stopped making pipes a couple of years ago. W.O. Larsen is one of the storied names in Danish pipe history. Some of the most highly esteemed Danish carvers in the annals of pipes have come from W.O. Larsen including Teddy Knudsen, Jess Chonowitsch, Peter Hedegaard, Poul Ilsted, Hans Former Nielsen, and more recently Benni Jorgensen and son Lasse Skovgaard. Svend Bang of S. Bang also worked at W.O. Larsen!
The piece you are looking at here is a W.O. Larsen Grade 7 large, bent Danish-style Apple. It is a phenomenal piece of briar too! The straight grain cascades down all sides of the bowl in breathtaking fashion. It is hewn from a large, stunning briar block and the shape etched here takes full advantage of the grain properties of the bowl. The straight grain follows both sides of the shank beautifully as well. As the straight grain gracefully follows the curvature of the bowl, the birdseye sweeps across the bottom of the bowl and shape in grand profusion with stunning distinctiveness. This is a remarkable collector's item and a MUST-HAVE for your collection! Get it before it is gone!
