This piece is an incredible precision cut smoking instrument that Kevin Arthur calls the "Spike". It reminds me of a piece of beautiful Nordic architecture-maybe the projecting flange of a Viking ship. The sides of the bowl are smooth and cross grained with a light ruby finish while the front and back of the bowl as well as the shank have detailed hand rustication with an ebony finish. Truly stunning work at a great price! It is a good sized piece of briar but is only 1.8 ounces!

We at UPtown's are proud to now carry and feature pipes from the outstanding young American pipe carver from Aurora, Illinois. Kevin started carving pipes several years ago. His first pipe was carved in homage to a lost, beloved Stanwell pipe and the rest-as they say-is history. The pipe carving bug had struck and creative journey of pipe carving quickly progressed from hobby to craft. His progression has been rapid and the quality of his work immense as you can see on the pieces we have for sale here. His goal is to create the the best possible smoking instrument at the best price and he has been a huge hit. The quality is readily apparent at first glance. All facets of the carving process are closely adhered to and his meticulous nature is evident in the end product. If you don't have a Kevin Arthur pipe in your collection, now is the time to get one!
